Vanguard Muse is an Austin and Los Angeles based music and film production company formed in 2011 by Kathy Kuras and Sami Grisafe to elevate action, authenticity, and parity through performance and storytelling. Their collaboration has produced multiple albums, singles, live performances, music videos and the feature-length documentary film, Open Field, which had its world premiere in 2020 at the Austin Film Festival. 

Since its premiere, Open Field continues to garner acclaim and awards at film festivals across the U.S. for its behind-the-scenes look at female tackle football players through the eyes of Sami Grisafe, a trailblazing MVP quarterback. Accolades include Best Documentary and Audience Awards at the Alexandria Film Festival, Flathead Lake International Cinemafest (FLIC), Riverside International Film Festival, Angeles Doc and SoCal Film Awards.

Combining autobiographical lyrics, live-game audio, driving beats and anthemic melodies, Sami co-wrote the soundtrack with Eren Cannata (Demi Lovato, Andra Day) and KOIL PreAmple (Timbaland). The single “Manifest”  and accompanying music video was shot at the Pro Football Hall of Fame Stadium in Canton, Ohio and released on 2.2.22.

Both Sami and Kathy are keynote speakers, panelists and regularly featured in the media, sharing stories and perspective from their unique experiences.
